An essay that isn't working usually isn't working at the outline. We get the thesis and the argument straight before touching sentence-level edits.
Editing as a separate skill
Writing and editing are different muscles. We teach both, and we show students how to edit their own work without losing the voice.
College application essays
Senior fall sessions go to the personal statement and the supplements. We don't write the essay. We ask the questions that get your student to a draft worth revising.
AP English exam prep
We coach the synthesis, rhetorical analysis, and argument essays on a tested structure that scores in the 6 to 9 range with practice.
