AP Calculus tutoring that builds intuition.

Most students struggle with calculus not because the rules are hard, but because the geometric intuition behind derivatives and integrals never landed. Our UCLA tutors come from majors that use calculus every day and teach it that way.

The students we tend to do best with.

Right for AB and BC students aiming for a 4 or 5, students moved up a level who need to fill in algebra and trig gaps, and seniors using BC as a pre-engineering credential.

Four things every AP Calculus engagement includes.

01

Limits and continuity, the right way

We start where most teachers rush. A solid intuition for limits is what makes the rest of the year feel easy.

02

Derivatives as rates

The product, quotient, and chain rules are easy. Knowing when to use which one inside a related-rates problem is the actual skill.

03

Integration as area, then as antiderivative

We teach Riemann sums, the Fundamental Theorem, and substitution as one connected story instead of three.

04

BC-only topics

Series convergence tests, parametric and polar derivatives, and the chapter on power series get their own dedicated unit.

A plan you can read in a paragraph.

Weekly hour-long sessions through the school year, then a spring intensive built around released free-response questions from the past ten years. Our tutors have walked the AP scoring rubric and know exactly where students leave points on the table.

AP Calculus questions families ask.

AB or BC, which one should my student take?+
BC covers AB plus three extra units (series, parametric, polar). Strong math students who plan to go into engineering, physics, or quantitative econ benefit from BC. If your student is on the fence, AB is the safer 5.
Can you help with the AP exam specifically?+
Yes. The exam is half multiple choice and half free response, and the free response section rewards a very specific writing style. We coach that style in the last six weeks.
We are halfway through the year and behind. Can you catch us up?+
Most often, yes. We start with a short diagnostic to see whether the gap is in calculus itself or in the underlying algebra and trig. Then we close it.
