AP Biology tutoring with the system thinkers.

AP Bio is a huge subject and the temptation is to memorize every detail. The exam actually rewards the student who can explain a system. Our UCLA tutors teach the structure so the details fit somewhere.

The students we tend to do best with.

Right for pre-med-track high schoolers, students aiming for a 5, and anyone catching up after a rough fall semester.

Four things every AP Biology engagement includes.

01

Big ideas as scaffolding

The College Board organizes the course around four big ideas. We hang every lecture and lab on that scaffold so the material connects.

02

Genetics and inheritance

The genetics unit punishes shaky probability. We teach Punnett squares, dihybrid crosses, and pedigree reasoning until they are reflexive.

03

Free-response practice

Six FRQs in 90 minutes is a writing endurance challenge. We coach the response structure and the rubric language that scores.

04

Lab analysis

Quantitative lab questions appear in both sections. Our tutors come from majors that run real labs and know how to interpret the data.

A plan you can read in a paragraph.

Weekly through the year, intensive in March and April. We aim for steady weekly gains in the underlying conceptual fluency rather than crash review at the end.

AP Biology questions families ask.

Is AP Bio harder than AP Chem?+
Different hard. AP Bio is broader and writing-heavier. AP Chem is narrower and more quantitative. Most students find one of the two clicks for them and the other does not.
Can my student take AP Bio without honors bio first?+
It is possible but rare. The pace assumes biology fundamentals. If your school does not require the prerequisite, talk to the teacher first.
