ISEE tutoring for LA's independent schools.
Most Los Angeles private schools weigh the ISEE alongside the application and the interview. We prep your student to walk in calm and finish on time, with the verbal and quantitative reasoning skills the test actually measures.
The students we tend to do best with.
Most of the families we prep are applying to Harvard-Westlake, Marlborough, Brentwood, Crossroads, Marymount, Polytechnic, Buckley, Curtis, Campbell Hall, and schools like them.
Four things every ISEE engagement includes.
Three levels, three different tests
We prep Lower Level (entry to grades 5 to 6), Middle Level (grades 7 to 8), and Upper Level (grades 9 to 12 application). These are genuinely different tests, and we treat them that way.
Verbal reasoning, the hard part
Synonyms and sentence completion reward vocabulary that does not get explicitly taught in school. We build a focused word list and quiz it the way the test does.
The quantitative section rewards shortcuts
QR tests logic and estimation more than calculation. Our tutors teach the shortcuts that turn 30-second problems into 10-second ones.
Essay coaching
The essay is unscored, but the admissions office reads it. We work on giving your student something to actually say and a clear way to say it, rather than handing over a template.
A plan you can read in a paragraph.
Eight to fifteen hours over six to ten weeks works for most students. We aim for honest stanine gains rather than overprepped ceilings, because admissions readers can tell the difference.
